This transition marks an exciting new chapter for both pharmacies and the community, ensuring patients continue to receive personalized, high-quality care with expanded services.

With the acquisition, Barr’s Pharmacy will continue to honor LongRx’s strong legacy of serving families in Wilmington while bringing in additional resources, innovative services, and a deepened commitment to patient health. Patients can expect the same familiar faces, exceptional customer service, and convenient access to their prescriptions and healthcare needs.

A Message from the Previous Owners of LongRx Pharmacy:

After much reflection and with deep gratitude in our hearts, Jim and I have decided to sell Long Rx.

This decision was not made lightly.  For almost 20 years, it has been our joy and privilege to serve the health care needs of our patients and this community, to build lasting relationships, and to be part of our customers lives in big and small ways. From the beginning, our goal was to create not just a business, but a pharmacy where people felt welcome, cared for, and knew their health and well-being was our priority.  Thanks to your loyal support, we have been able to do just that. 

As we turn the page to this next chapter, we are filled with confidence in the new owners, Marcus and Tina Barr of Barr’s Pharmacy.  They are a dedicated team who shares our values and commitment to continuing the same standards of service and care you have come to expect.  We are certain they will honor the foundation of the community pharmacy started here in 1964 while bringing new opportunities and healthcare innovations.  We are excited to be able to keep the pharmacy in local hands, and continue the commitment to the small community in which we all belong. 

We want to sincerely thank you- our employees, customers, neighbors, and friends -for allowing us to serve you over the years.  Your trust and encouragement have meant everything to us, and we are forever grateful.  While we will no longer be at the helm, we are excited that all of our staff will remain on board with their continued dedication to our patients and their healthcare needs. 

This is not goodbye, but a heartfelt thank-you.  We will always cherish the memories, relationships, and sense of community that grew around this pharmacy. Though our role is changing, our connection to this community remains, and we will continue to cheer for the success of Long’s Pharmacy/Barr’s Pharmacy alongside of the community.
